Radio show host Howard Stern has said that Donald Trump's supporters are the people that the president “despises most” and that President Trump would be “disgusted” by people who vote for him.

Stern and Trump had been friends for years, with Trump appearing on Stern's show regularly. But in the past few years, that friendship seems to have ended. Stern just recently announced that he was “all in on Joe Biden” as presumptive Democratic nominee for president.

But now, Stern seems to have gone a step further by making a series of disparaging comments about Trump and those who vote him.

According to the New York Daily News, Stern said on his Tuesday Sirius XM radio show that Trump would be “disgusted” by people who vote for him.

“The oddity in all of this is the people Trump despises most, love him the most,” Stern said. “The people who are voting for Trump for the most part... he wouldn’t even let them in a f***ing hotel.”

“He’d be disgusted by them. Go to Mar-a-Lago, see if there’s any people who look like you. I’m talking to you in the audience."

Stern then addressed supporters of President Trump directly, saying that he "hates" them.

“I don’t hate Donald,” the radio host said. “I hate you voting for him, for not having intelligence. For not being able to see what's going on with the coronavirus. Not able to see what the Justice Department is doing. I hate you. I don't want you here. I want to build a wall and throw you the f**k out."

Stern then asserted that he wasn't a liberal, and called for President Trump to stand down, saying:

“I do think it would be extremely patriotic of Donald to say, ‘I’m in over my head, and I don’t want to be president anymore.'"

“It’d be so patriotic that I’d hug him and then I’d go back to Mar-a-Lago and have a meal with him and feel good about him because it would be such an easy thing to do.”

Stern had previously criticized President Trump for his response to the coronavirus pandemic. In April, Stern called Trump "a guy who tells me that I should pour Clorox into my mouth."

According to The Independent, Stern said: "What's it going to take? I don't get it. I don't think there is anyone left who will vote for him."

"You see the wall that's right next to you, I'll vote for the wall over a guy who tells me that I should pour Clorox into my mouth. Listen, I think we are in deep shit. I think we could have been ahead of this curve."

Trump and Stern seemed to still be on talking terms during the 2016 presidential election. While Stern backed Hillary Clinton, he told The Washington Post that he had spoken to Trump about it.

“I don’t dislike Trump as a candidate. But I am absolutely enamored by Hillary. And I’ve told Donald that.”

Stern also refused to replay tapes of President Trump making controversial comments about women during 2016, saying at the time:

“I feel Donald Trump did the show in an effort to be entertaining and have fun with us and I feel like it would be a betrayal to any of our guests if I sat there and played them now where people are attacking him."

However, their relationship seems to have deteriorated since. And unsurprisingly, Stern's latest comments caused some controversy on social media.

"Liberals claim to be 'offended' by Donald Trump's behavior towards women yet they're cheering on Howard Stern," one user wrote.

While another added: "Howard Stern has millions of listeners... many of them Donald Trump supporters. He’s 100% right. If he can convince them that #Trump hates them and couldn’t give a shit about them."
