It's not every day you witness a marriage ultimatum in the middle of Target in the middle of a pandemic in the middle of an election year. But today is that day.

A recent viral video shows a woman dressed in a white wedding dress confronting her partner, who seems to be working a shift at Target, and demanding that they get married right there, right now. She gives him an ultimatum. And it is quite a thing to watch.

The video starts with someone filming from around the corner of the aisle. They come up on a woman in a wedding dress, someone who looks like her maid of honor, and maybe an officiant. All three are hovered around a Target employee, and the woman in the wedding dress is confronting him.

"You put this ring on my finger two years ago," she can be heard saying from behind her mask, "and it's time to do it or get out. We're getting married right now, or I'm leaving. I'm out. I'm done. Like, if you don't marry me this second... I brought the pastor. I brought Emily. She's my bridesmaid."

At this point, the woman sees that she's being filmed, and she waves to the camera and addresses them. "I'm just finally making him commit, you know?" she says. "We're getting married now, or it's over."

Her partner suggests that they talk about this outside, and then the group turns and walks down the aisle (the Target aisle, not the wedding aisle) and past the camera to talk more privately.

In the first part, the woman and her posse can be seen booking it through the store in search of her man. TikTok user Ashley posted the video to her page with the caption, "Part 1. The best part of my week! Watched this woman hunt her man down that works at Target!!"

According to her hashtags, this takes place at a Target in the Las Vegas area. Her video of the confrontation has over 6 million views on TikTok, and another 5.4 million on Twitter, where it was reposted.

People were suspicious that this was the real deal. "What pastor would agree to that?" one person asked. "I hope this was a prank that the random passerby who filmed it wasn't in on. No way she is making that heavy of a play for the dude working at Target."

Still, others thought that in the event that this was genuine, you shouldn't have to ambush your fiancé while he's working to get him to marry you. "Ladies, I know you've invested time in the relationship, but just move on!" someone with a very good point wrote. "In no time, you'll have a whole new life and be completely baffled you wasted so much time. You could probably pick up a new bearded white Target employee on the way out! It's a buyer's market!"

I think it's safe to say if you have to surprise your partner at work and demand to get married, you might have some things you should probably work out before saying, "I do." Imagine telling your grandkids about your wedding one day: "Well, your grandma was fed up that I wouldn't marry her, so she traipsed into my place of work in a wedding dress and demanded I marry her right that second or she'd break up with me. That was 50 years ago!"

We're dealing with a lot in the year 2020. I don't also need to be worrying about this couple and whether they are still together or not. Here's hoping the situation got resolved, one way or another. We still have no idea if this was a prank or if this was real. I hope for the sake of everyone involved that it was fake.
