Fox host Tomi Lahren has told Vice President Joe Biden to "carry a purse" after the Democratic presidential nominee's campaign tweeted a video clip of him putting on a mask.
President Donald Trump attracted criticism when he took off his mask while arriving back to the White House after spending several days at Walter Reed Hospital. President Trump is still believed to be contagious and flaunted CDC guidelines "to wear a mask in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household." The CDC recommends that those who are infectious also wear a mask unless they are having trouble breathing.
"The mask helps prevent a person who is sick from spreading the virus to others," the CDC explains. "It helps keep respiratory droplets contained and from reaching other people."
Vice President Joe Biden took the opportunity to attack President Trump over the move, with his campaign sharing a video of Biden putting on a mask alongside President Trump taking his off.
Tomi Lahren attacked Biden over the tweet, writing: "Might as well carry a purse with that mask, Joe."
Unsurprisingly, the tweet attracted a fair amount of criticism. "Women like Tomi Lahren bully boys into not expressing emotion or even loving themselves enough to take care of their health," one user wrote. "Women like Lahren laugh at men if they cry. There’s no other word for it but sadism."
While another added: "The only voters Trump is attracting with his ridiculously fake macho-man bravado are guys who always dreamt of being manly but never could be and women like Tomi Lahren who make a living off of acting like she cares about these same men."
And one user concluded: "What a weird flex by Tomi here. She has this weird self-deprecating belief that she’s weaker because she’s a woman, which has all sorts of implications in her profession."
Tomi is definitely the queen of putting her foot in her mouth.
