"Has your baby daddy been acting up? Tired of him playing games? Does he put drugs and his mates before the kids?" reads Jake James' new Facebook ad. The service he's offering? Rent-a-Daddy, where you can pay for him to come and hang out with your kids and your family for the day.

James, who's from New South Wales in Australia, posted the ad to his Facebook page. "Trying out a new career move to get away from trucks so everybody get onboard and support your boy," he wrote. "Rent a daddy today."

The rental includes one to two weekends per month and up to three activities of the kids' choice. He'll also attend sporting events, provide up to three hours of instruction on life skills like car maintenance and mowing the lawn, and he'll do daycare or school pickup and drop off, like a real good dad.

Only you have to pay him. It's $30 an hour, plus a 20 percent surcharge per hour on Sundays after 4 p.m., which sounds reasonable. Things that cost extra include family events and birthday parties, Facebook relationship statuses, and family selfies.

James also writes, "Private time is negotiable upon application (kids are to be asleep or absent from premises)." What ever could that mean?

Does this sound like the start of a charming romantic comedy starring Will Smith (Hitch era) to you? Because it certainly does to me. An overworked single mom hires a Rent-a-Daddy to bond with her kids while she gets on top of the household tasks, then boom! They fall in love. I'd pay $13 to watch that.

James' post has garnered thousands of reactions, comments, and shares on Facebook and Instagram. People are pretty intrigued by what he's offering, even if it does kind of seem like a joke.

"I don't have kids but can I still rent you?" one woman asked. "I have fur babies if that counts." Someone else on Instagram applauded his ingenuity: "If you are serious about this it would be a fantastic idea.

"There are so many children that need a good role model to do things with, instead of sitting in front of a TV playing video games. Hope it all works out for you."

Still, some people are a little wary of his motivations: "Moms about to be renting him for themselves. Plot twist, this is how he finds single moms to date."

Others were concerned for the kids, who would form a connection with him and then be upset if he wasn't around anymore because he was no longer getting paid. It's a valid concern, I suppose, but it really seems like the ad is mostly all in good fun.

It's unclear whether James has gotten any offers yet, but with the reach of his post, I wouldn't be surprised if they start pouring in soon. Let's just hope that he gets some credit when the movie comes out because that's a golden premise.
