Sunday was Trump's birthday, so Twitter decided to make it 'Barack Obama Day' instead

President Donald Trump turned 74 on Sunday. But if you looked at social media, you might not have been able to tell. Trump has faced a lot of backlash over his response to mostly peaceful protests over the death of George Floyd at the hands of police. As a result, opinion polls have primarily shown a decline in Trump's popularity.
In an attempt to drown out any birthday wishes that the President might receive, Twitter user instead decided to get #BarackObamaDay, #ObamaDayUSA, and #ObamaDayJune14th trending. Users tweeted praise of the former president, and criticism of the current president, and for the most part, the plan worked.
"Barack Obama encompassed everything a leader should: strength, compassion, clarity, accountability, affability, humility," one user wrote.
While another added: "On the day of your birth, @realDonaldTrump
we celebrate #BarackObamaDay!
"President Obama played football & softball with kids a while back—threw a TD/hit a double," one user wrote. "Then he told the kids this: 'I think you’re gonna do something important. You’re gonna make a real difference. We’re going to be really proud of you.'"
And to mock the "All Lives Matter" movement, social media users also decided to get #AllBirthdaysMatter trending.
One user explained: "It wasn’t my idea, but I definitely told a Trump supporter that #AllBirthdaysMatter today and the look on their face was the perfect mix of confusion and delayed-realization of how stupid #AllLivesMatter sounds when you really think about it."
"Happy early bday to Obama bc all birthdays matter," another user joked.
While another user added: "Trump is probably punching the air while Obama is sipping his tea."
"All birthdays matter and that’s that, happy 51 day early birthday bb," another added.
This pettiness is on a whole different level, and we love it.
